The Charlotte Metro area still has a thriving and hot market teeming with diverse commerce and industries. All around us as you drive through the city you can witness several new construction projects like condos, townhomes, single family homes and yes, more and more apartments! And it's no small wonder as there are still more and more families moving into into the area in order to call our gorgeous city their home. Although some remain reluctant as interest rates have had an uptick over that last two years, still; not everyone has been willing to sit on the sidelines and wait for everyone else to show up to the party later. Despite interest rates in the low sevens Charlotte rents remain on average anywhere between $1400 - $2200  for a 1-3 bedroom apartment leaving no small wonder as to why people are still choosing to purchase. There are those that see this moment as an opportunity and still find value in choosing to own a home rather than to pay their landlord's mortgage. Most renters fork out on average $12,000 to $16,000 a year to help put money into someone else's pocket, money that could they could invest into their own future. 

I am a big proponent of buying what you can afford now, but if and when at all possible, buy! When I was a single mom my goal was both to purchase a home that I could afford and to later add as an investment into my mine and my daughter's future. When I did; the floors were ugly, there was popcorn on the ceiling and it  needed serious painting. Still, I purchased it with a vision in mind. I decided that instead of purchasing what I had been preapproved for then, I would search in the price range I was comfortable with. Why, because I knew it wasn't my final home. I had a vision and having a vision and staying focused gives you the opportunity to see what no one else can see and to seize opportunities that others won't.
